Hi dearest reader,

To blog or not to blog?, that’s the question?!…
in this post i’m asking myself if blogging
is still my passion or is it work?

A while ago i saw several blogposts
about the decreasing of readers of blogs.
To blog or not to blog?, that’s the question..
I’m sure a lot of bloggers won’t dare to say it..
but are we bloggers the past? And vloggers the here, now and future?
It looks like it, social media has becoming super powerful
maybe more powerfull than the blog itself.

Numbers, numbers and numbers.
Since the vacation i’ve noticed this fact as well.
I’m absolutely not one of the big bloggers out there,
but my blog was growing.
Since a few months i’ve seen my blog numbers were decreasing.
I know at summertime it usually does,
but now it’s the time i should be back at my “normal status”.

Honestly i don’t exactly know where it is coming from.
Maybe still because of the great weather overhere.
But it makes no sense because i’ve got a lot
of readers abroad as well.
Or maybe my content isn’t that good anymore,
the blog world is huge and saturated.
Everyone has a blog,
even the guinea pig from your neighbor.

Maybe i should consider to focus on my socials.
Because of the lack of time i find it is hard to get it all together.
I always said, when i experience blogging as work
and as a must-do i maybe need to think about a blog recess.
Of course i’ve learned a lot of things because of my blog
and yes it’s fun to earn money with it.
But when my hobby feels like work,
i’m not totally sure if it will ‘work’ for me eventually.

Social media
I can’t deny Instagram has opened a lot of doors for me.
And yes it’s my passion to create content
and channeling my inner artist.
I’m always full of ideas for my photo’s
and trying to improve my photography skills to present my style even more.
And yes it’s flattering (i can say)
a lot of people appreciate my feed
(even the people who don’t like my style).

I know there are a lot of haters out there
who are questioning my account ’cause i don’t have
thousands of likes at one pictures.
Think again!
Never ever say to me i bought my followers,
then we are done.
Because if you ever took the energy to analyse my account,
you would see it’s a lot of work to be where i am now.
Focus on your own blog,
i’m not your subject..
we need to empower eachother.

The social explosion for me has as downpoint
no one asks anymore about my blog.
A mention at the blog is nice,
but we prefer a social post
(and never asking about my blog analytics).
I don’t get it, the blog is the main source right?
But no things has change..
your social channels are (getting) more important.

I’m always honest and transparant when it comes to collabs.
It isn’t only my profile or photo the people are looking at.
If you want more followers?
Your profile needs to be on point too!!

The new Instagram tool for your statistics is quite awesome.
I was waiting for this tool for a long time,
i didn’t had a clue how many times my Instagram account was viewed.
But now i have insight in my analytics,
i’m certain my reach is valuable.
My photo’s are viewed by thousands of people and yes that’s a fact.
Of course not all of the 135k are liking and commenting.
Otherwise i would be famous right now ;).
I’m aware of the amount of ghostfollowers and non-active followers.
I don’t comment and like all the people which i’m following as well.
Anyway i do what i do best: showing my life trough pictures
and connecting with people.

Fake it till you make it
The advice several bloggers gave me was to be good at poker.
Fake it till you make it and you will get there.
But now i’m wondering what is there?
How closer i came to my goals how more supervisual it felt for me.
I’m absolutely searching for the balance between what’s
real and what’s fake.
THE ONLINE WORLD IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.
Maybe i need to show that more often,
life is not always vibrant & colorful….

For now i am still in dialogue with my biggest competition: me.
